Scheduled Config Backup

Article Number: 000001035
Published: August 15, 2016
Exinda has the capability to run scheduled jobs. This option can be found under System --> Setup --> Scheduled Jobs (tab). Hence you can schedule backup jobs for the configuration, pushing the configuration via TFTP or SCP.
The Key here is the "Commands" section. You simply need to add the set of commands that need to be run on a scheduled basis.
Example:
1> Scheduled Backups of the Config File as a Text File
Commands:
configuration text generate active saved save <anyname>.txt upload tftp://<server>/<path>/<destination file name>.txt
Example:
configuration text generate active saved save Exindaconf.txt upload tftp://10.2.6.231/SavedConfig.txt

Another example of uploading running configuration :
Configuration upload active scp://username[:password]@hostname/path/filename

Simply type in the commands in the "Commands" Section of the Scheduled Jobs tab and it runs on a scheduled basis.

For more information on how to setup scheduled jobs, please refer to Article # 000001782
Please keep in mind that each time this command runs, it will overwrite the previously saved config file. It will not generate different copies each time.

Also note that it is not possible to 'pull' the configuration from the Exinda by using another server, as it requires access to part of the Exinda firmware that isn't accessible without Exinda TAC's assistance.
