Dynamic Virtual Circuit not limiting per-user bandwidth

Article Number: 000001795
Published: February 23, 2017
Dynamic Virtual Circuits can be configured to limit per user bandwidth, but sometimes it will not work.
When setting up a Dynamic Virtual Circuit, there is an option to set per user bandwidth. If the configuration appears to be correct, but the traffic for the users is not being limited as specified, please check the following:
  • Make sure the traffic is appearing in the correct virtual circuit in Monitor >┬áReal Time (select Show Policies to check)
  • Confirm that the 'Per Host Max Bandwidth' section has the 'No Bursting Allowed' checkbox checked, or that the max bandwidth is set as desired amount
Here is an example screenshot with basic Dynamic Virtual Circuit settings to limit the internal hosts to 10Mbps each:

If everything appears to be correct after double-checking the above options, then this could be caused by a software defect.
The cause is currently unknown.
There is no known workaround at this time. It is recommended that you contact the Exinda Support team for confirmation that the DVC is configured correctly.
ExOS 7.4.4u2 fixes this problem. Please see the release notes for more information.
